2-Methoxyoestrogens are emerging as a new class of anti-neoplastic agents. 2-Methoxyoestradiol (2-MeOE2), an endogenous oestrogen metabolite, has shown anti-proliferative effects in ER+ve and ER-ve breast cancer cell lines.
